Padraig Arthur | MSCSI, MRICS, MPM

Principal of Chancery Group, formerly Padraig Arthur Associates

Padraig Arthur has over two decades of experience in all main aspects of the construction industry, including residential, commercial, health, education, and light civil engineering. His firm has served a wide variety of clients in the private and public sectors, including government agencies, religious orders, court services, developers, commercial enterprises, main contractors and specialist subcontractors.

Padraig has qualified to chartership status with both the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI). In recognition of the growing importance of the role of professional Project Managers in the construction industry and in appreciation of the complementary link between Quantity Surveyingand Project Management, Padraig recently completed a Masters in Project Management at the University of Limerick.

Having founded Chancery Group in 1997 (as Padraig Arthur & Associates), Padraig took on the mission of providing reliable, integrity-driven professional services to the construction industry. Padraig chose to base his company in the Midlands, the better to provide a nationwide, comprehensive service to clients. His practice is ISO-accredited and holds unblemished Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Colin Smyth | MSCSI, MRICS, HDip Cons Law

Chartered Quantity Surveyor

Colin’s 18 years working in the Irish market ensures that he brings an in-depth knowledge of best practice Quantity Surveying Services to Chancery Group, having managed projects from inception to completion.

Colin has provided full Quantity Surveying services from concept design to handover on a number of complex multi-million euro projects across a wide variety of sectors, including commercial, retail, residential, healthcare and life sciences. Colin is a good communicator and has an ability to adapt to the specific requirements of a project. His knowledge of and additional qualifications in Contract Law and Procurement Legislation allows him to provide accurate, up to date advice on procurement, tendering, contract and cost management. Colin’s commitment and attention to detail will always see him add value to our client’s projects.

Diarmuid Mollin | BEng (Hons), PG DIP BIM, CEng, MIEI

Chartered Engineer

Diarmuid’s career has covered a diverse range of areas in structural engineering, locally and internationally over the past 12 years. He brings great experience from 7 years working on large commercial, industrial, multi-storey residential and mining projects in Australia and has delivered many successful residential, acute healthcare, education and industrial projects throughout Ireland. 

Diarmuid combines his technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills to deliver an excellent level of service for clients. Diarmuid’s experience has given him an appreciation for embracing alternative solutions on projects and an ability to look beyond the design on paper. He has a strong track record of delivering complex projects within schedule and cost objectives and complements his wide-ranging experience with enthusiasm for the job at hand from project inception to completion.

Diarmuid’s expertise encompasses multiple facets of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and he completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Collaborative BIM through Dublin Institute of Technology in 2018.  

Gordon Dunne | BEng


Gordon joined the Engineering team at Chancery in 2016 and since then has proven to be a very valuable team player.  He has used his deep knowledge and varied experience to support and accomplish many wide-ranging projects within schedule and cost objectives.  This knowledge and experience has been gained through his commitment and attention to detail on the many projects he has worked on throughout his successful 20 year career which ranges from small residential units, to large commercial and industrial projects.  He has a demonstrated a record of deep, practical expertise in the field of engineering.

Gordon’s strong personal qualities of a good communicator, adaptable, level-headed, established, tenacious, composed, and passionate, allows him to deliver a valuable contribution to all services and to lead projects from start to finish.  Gordon’s expansive and deep knowledge started when he graduated, and he has continued to add to this knowledge through his varied and accomplished project portfolio.

Lorraine Dunne

Office Manager and Accounts Administrator

Lorraine joined the firm in March 1998. Her primary role is as Office Manager and Accounts Administrator. She also acts as personal assistant to Padraig Arthur (Principal), as well as being the ISO Manager for Chancery Group. Lorraine ensures staff compliance with all ISO policies and procedures, and manages the ISO auditing process. In addition to these responsibilities, Lorraine takes an active role in client support, serving as primary customer liaison on all Chancery Group projects.

Patricia Gallagher

Accounts Manager

Patricia has a National Certificate in Business. She brings her own unique set of skills, expertise and experience in both customer service and accounts to the Chancery Group. Patricia is active in a wide range of Client Contact, Administration and Staff Support services.
